THIS house in Itchen sold for more than £60,000 over its guide price.
With an overgrown garden, collapsed ceiling and exposed wires, the three-bed was put up for auction with a guide price of £145,000.
The house on Ludlow Road was a repossession property so it was being sold for the bank.
But the property gained a lot of interest, with more than 30 viewings.
The auction last week ended with a telephone bidding war, eventually selling for £206,000.
It was the most popular lot of the auction.
Melanie Vaughan, of Auction House Sussex, said: "We only had it advertised for two weeks so it was a late entry into our auction.
"This property was in a very sorry state, overgrown garden, mismatched interior, basically a complete refurbishment. The property soon gained lots of interest.
"We had a huge 15 bidders ready. This ended up being our most popular lot.
"Towards the end of the auction, there seemed to be a bit of a telephone bidding war where we ended up selling it for £206,000."
The house has a a living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor, with three bedrooms on the first floor and a private rear garden.
