THREE former DJs at a legendary Southampton club are to host a reunion.

Gary James, Stevie Edwards and Gary King are to relive the halcyon days of Fridays Discotheque in London Road at the event at The Concorde Club on Thursday October 27.

The trio will be playing the best tunes they spun there between 1976 and 1988.

When the venue opened in 1973, Tony Emerson was the resident DJ, followed by Vic James and Johnny Dymond, former jock at The Royal Pier.

Stevie Edwards and Gary James both started in May 1976, a year to remember for Saints winning the FA Cup and the long hot summer. Gary James recalls playing six nights a week and meeting celebrities including Dennis Waterman and Bill Maynard. Stevie Edwards and Gary King notched up 21 years between them.

The club ceased as Fridays in 1988 with Gary King playing the final night.

All three DJs now work on Skyline Gold Radio in Hedge End.

Tickets for the Fridays Reunion, including a donation to Wessex Heartbeat, are available from theconcordeclub.com
