PLANS to turn a Georgian villa in Southampton into seven flats have been given the go-ahead.
The city council has approved an application relating to a Grade II-listed building at Carlton Crescent that was last used as offices.
Aircool Property has been given the green light to convert the building, which has been vacant for some time.
A design and access statement that accompanied the proposals said: "The applicants passionately believe that the proposals will result in high-quality units, situated in a desirable area, near the centre of Southampton.
"There is currently an oversupply of office space and the reversion to its original residential use would be a valuable boost to this area."
A council report said no physical changes to the front of the three-storey building were planned.
It added: "The proposal as a whole is not considered to cause harm to the character of the listed building or its setting."
