A POLICE incident on the M4 closed the whole motorway this morning.
It has only reopened in one direction.
The road was completely shut off between junctions 15 and 16, between Marlborough and Swindon, as police dealt with an incident.
Two lanes in the westbound have now reopened between the junctions and one lane remains closed.
The eastbound carriageway "remains closed for Wiltshire Police to conduct investigations", National Highways says.

The eastbound carriageway and the Croft Road bridge will be closed until "later today", Wiltshire Police have said.
There are long delays of 25 minutes on approach to junction 15, as traffic is being diverted off at the junction's exit and then re-joining at the junction's entry slip road.
Earlier, queues started to form as traffic was directed off the motorway at junction 15.
The westbound carriageway of the M4 between J15 and 16 is now open.
