A MAN who robbed a betting shop at knifepoint has been jailed.
David Pratt appeared in court following the incident in Eastleigh in March.
The court heard how the 38-year-old went into Coral bookmakers on Leigh Road just before 5.10pm on March 25.
There, he threatened a staff and other customers inside with a knife.
Pratt demanded money from the cashier and fled the scene with a quantity of cash.
He was identified from CCTV in the Swan Centre and was seen by staff to take his face covering off after the incident.
Pratt was later arrested and charged with robbery and possession of a bladed article.
Today, October 4, he was convicted and sentenced at Southampton Crown Court.
Pratt, of Southampton Road in Eastleigh, was jailed for a total of three years and nine months.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge.
