A MAN has been charged with attempted murder and assaulting a man with a modified knuckleduster in a burglary.

Jonathan Oliver is accused of inflicting grievously bodily harm in an aggravated burglary where he is alleged to have been armed with a hammer and knuckleduster with spiked blades.

Oliver is accused of trying to murder the same man said to have been assaulted.

The 49-year-old, of Catherington Lane, in Catherington near Waterlooville, is charged with attempted murder and aggravated burglary in Down End Road, Fareham, on September 29.

Oliver appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court on October 1.

He was remanded in custody to appear in Portsmouth Crown Court on October 27.

No plea has been entered.
