A MAN has been spotted handing out biscuits to children outside a school.
Netley Abbey Junior School said the man was seen approaching students at the school gate during lunchtime.
Staff then intervened and have since contacted the police.
In a letter to parents, school head, Rosie Tebbutt, urged them to be "vigilant" and warn children of the dangers of talking to strangers.

The letter says: "We would like you to be vigilant in the area and ask that you please speak to your child to reiterate the importance of not talking to strangers or approaching vehicles they are not familiar with.
"Our curriculum ensures children know how to seek help if required and when to act to keep themselves safe.
"If you have further concerns or information, please contact the school office or the police directly on 101."
The man has been described as having black hair, being quite short and having dark-rimmed glasses.
The Hamble School has also made its parents aware via a letter sent out today by headteacher, Alaric Govan.
He said: "We have been contacted by Netley Abbey Primary School this afternoon.

"The police have been contacted. Staff will be out at the end of the day."
Hampshire Constabulary has been approached for more information.
