EXTRA patrols are set to take place outside a school after a man was seen handing out biscuits to children.
Letters were sent out to parents following the incident at Netley Abbey Junior School.
A man was seen approaching a small number of schoolchildren at the school gates at around 12.50pm on Tuesday.
He is said to have offered them a sealed biscuit before leaving the area.
However, just minutes later, school staff said the man returned, before driving away towards Grange Road and Victoria Road.

Now extra patrols are set to take place outside the school and both parents and students are being warned to report anything suspicious.
Eastleigh and Hedge End Sector Inspector, Louise Hubble, said: “We fully appreciate that this will have been a concerning incident for parents to become aware of via the school; however, enquiries remain ongoing to identify those responsible.
"We are actively engaging with the school directly around this incident. Parents and students are being urged to be vigilant and report any suspicious individuals to staff members or by calling police via 101.
“Local officers will be carrying out extra patrols near to the school at school drop-off times and when students are travelling home at the end of the school day over the coming days to offer reassurance to parents.
"As always, if you have any concerns, please do speak to an officer if you see them whilst they are on patrol.”
Anyone with specific information about the incident, or dash-cam / CCTV footage is being asked to call 101, quoting 44220403376.
Rosie Tebbutt, headteacher at Netley Abbey Junior School wrote to parents yesterday.
She said: "We would like you to be vigilant in the area and ask that you please speak to your child to reiterate the importance of not talking to strangers or approaching vehicles they are not familiar with.
"Our curriculum ensures children know how to seek help if required and when to act to keep themselves safe."
