A MAN has been charged following a violent attack involving a machete.
Armed response officers and a police helicopter were called to Wagtail Drive in New Milton on September 1 following reports a man had been assaulted.
The suspect, who was believed to be armed with a machete, attacked the man at around 8.30pm.
He was reportedly in the area with the intention of stealing two puppies from a front garden.

Jordan Thomas McClay, aged 32, of Marsh Lane in Christchurch has been charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place and threats to damage or destroy property.
He appeared at Southampton Magistrates Court on Monday, October 3, where he was further remanded in custody.
He is now due to next appear at Southampton Crown Court on Monday, October 31.
