A LANE closure which has caused misery for motorists has been lifted.
One lane of Redbridge Causeway closed this week for the replacement of the bridge parapet (barrier) on the bridge just before the Totton bypass.
This move caused long delays for drivers, with queues of traffic heading back towards Nursling on the M271 in recent days.
However, the westbound lane closure has now been lifted.

Cones are now on the side of the road and according to AA Traffic, traffic is flowing.
The work began on October 3 and is set to continue until December 2.
Residents voiced their concerns about the ongoing work, with some describing it as "an absolute joke" and "very distressing."
At this moment in time there is no information as to when the lane closure will return.
Southampton City Council have been contacted for a comment.
