A CHINESE restaurant in Southampton could be refurbished to allow customers to pick and cook their own food from their table.

Yummy Pot Limited has applied for a new premises licence for its site at 39 London Road.

The company states: "The premises is being refurbished as a Chinese restaurant where patrols will pick the ingredients they wish to eat and cook the food themselves at their table.

"The premises will operate a challenge 25 policy and will benefit from having a digital CCTV system in operation and will also operate a refusals log book to support the challenge 25 policy."

The application by the Totton-based firm was submitted on October 3 with neighbours now able to give their views on the scheme until November 1.

The date the application will be decided is not yet known.
