A STOLEN moped has been discovered in Southampton more than a week after it was taken.
Officers discovered the vehicle on Laundry Road, later identifying it as the same one that was stolen from Milton Road on August 26.
The moped was found with the help of a member of the public who provided information to the force.
It is thought to probably be beyond repair and comes as police say more bikes are being stolen in the city.
In a post on social media, a spokesperson said: "Southampton Neighbourhood Officers have recovered another stolen moped, this time by a PCSO from the Southampton West team in Laundry Road.
"Acting on a little bit of information provided to us by a vigilant member of the community and some detective work, the stolen moped was recovered. Likely to be beyond repair but it's another moped that won't causing everyone issues around the City.
"Sadly, more are being stolen and used to drive dangerously and to commit other offences. If have info about crime, the who, the what, the where and the whys. We'd very much like to hear from you so we can do something about it."
