A WARNING has been issued after a number of 'intruders' broke into Hythe Pier.
A group of people were caught on CCTV breaking into the pier on Friday, October 8.
They were seen climbing over fences and walking down the pier to where Hythe Ferry departs from.
Now the ferry operator, which runs daily between Southampton Town Quay and Hythe, has warned that "if the gates are closed, we are closed."

Operations manager Sath Naidoo said: "I could see the group whilst eating my dinner and attended the pier as soon as I had finished.
"The possibility of slips, trips and falls when climbing off and onto the pier are great."

Sath and the ferry team shared a video of the intruders on Facebook, which was accompanied by amusing comments and the Benny Hill theme tune.
Sath added: "The video was done in a light-hearted manner just to make sure that the locals who may recognise their child spoke to them.
"We have done this before and it seems to work."
The ferry has previously been subjected to a spate of thefts.
Earlier this year a GPS Marine radio and handheld radios was stolen by thieves.
