POLICE have stumbled upon a cannabis factory containing hundreds of plants after being called out to a house fire.
Emergency services were alerted to a blaze at a semi-detached home in Oakley Road, Southampton, last night.
However, after the fire was put out, around 200 cannabis plants were found, according to police.
The property was unoccupied at the time and an investigation is now underway.
A police patrol car remains at the scene today, near the junction of King Edward Avenue, and a cordon is in place.
Anyone with information is urged to call 101, quoting crime reference number 44220419859.
