TWO boys have been stabbed in Southampton with police arresting three teenagers.

The city youngsters, 13 and 14, were injured in an assault in Cobden Avenue, Bitterne, at 3.33pm.

Police have arrested two 13-year-old boys and 14-year-old boy on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

They are both in custody.

Officers have a cordon in place.

A Hampshire police statement said: "At 3.33pm on Monday, October 17 police were called to Cobden Avenue, Bitterne following reports of a serious assault.

"Two boys, aged 13 and 14, both from Southampton were assaulted and taken to hospital for treatment.

"Two 13-year-old boys and a 14-year-old boy, all from Southampton, have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. They are currently in police custody.

"Officers will be in the area throughout the evening. If anyone has any concerns please approach one of the officers or call us on 101.
