PERCHED at the top of the hill overlooking the 56-acre Outdoor Sports Centre, this pub boasts one of the best views in Southampton.
The View Bar Southampton is also well known for its large beer garden, wall-to-wall sports coverage, a highly regarded Sunday carvery and top tribute nights.
Members of sports teams who frequent the Sports Centre, neighbours and visitors flock to the pub, which sits next to the home of Southampton Bowls Club and one of the car parks for the sporting space, bordered by Lordswood, Aldermoor, Hollybrook and Bassett.

Tom Hayward, bar manager of two years, told the Daily Echo: "The stunning view of the Sports Centre makes it an ideal place to come for a quiet drink, to grab a bite to eat or to spend some time with family and friends.
"We have a big garden, which has been the focal point for some of our amazing family fun days.
"One of our biggest challenges has been changing the reputation of the place and making it a more friendly and safe environment that is welcoming to all.
"We have made our prices more reasonable as well, to make it more manageable for people.
"We are best known for being a family-friendly location for people to come and enjoy a nice atmosphere, friendly staff and of course the view!
"It has always been at the heart of the community and that will continue."
The pub has been around for more than 100 years with previous incarnations including The Pub in the Park, The Sporting View and The Pavilion.
Kitchen manager James Wilson and the team like to update the menu and keep it very seasonal with a new menu due for release in the next couple of weeks.
The pub's Sunday carvery has been a huge success with lots of repeat customers and afternoon tea is also served.
The most popular drinks are Madri and Rekorderlig Strawberry and Lime on draught, but hot drinks and soft drinks are also staples.
Britain's Got Talent star Eva Iglesias performed in our garden this summer and got everyone up dancing and having a great time. Tribute nights with top acts emulating both Adele and Elvis have gone down a storm this year with more to follow.
Family fun days have included an Easter special and a charity event which raised more than £1,000 for hospice Mountbatten Hampshire.
The View shows every Premier League, Champions League and Europa League match on Sky Sports or BT Sport and more besides, as well as hosting a Sunday night quiz each week.
