BUFFER zones around abortion clinics have been back by MPS in a bid to protect women.
The proposed law would see harassing, obstructing or interfering with any woman attending an abortion clinic as a criminal offence.
Protesters could face up to six months in jail if they were found guilty of breaching the 150m buffer zones.
The amendment to the Government's Public Order Bill, was approved by MPs by 297 votes to 110.
An anti-abortion protest recently took place in Southampton which sparked calls for buffer zones to protect women.
In July, Choose Life Southampton held a protest at the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) clinic at Royal South Hants Hospital.
Rachael Clarke, Chief of Staff at BPAS, is calling for buffer zones to be created to protect patients from harassment and intimidation.
She said: “For a long time, the BPAS has been campaigning for buffer zones outside our clinics."
