A MAN has been summoned to court after a working falcon was found dead in a Southampton garden.
Storm the falcon used to control pests at Southampton General Hospital was found fatally injured at an address in Coxford Road.
An investigation was later launched following the incident around 10.30am on Monday, July 4.
A 65-year-old man from Southampton has now been summoned to Southampton Magistrates' Court to face prosecution for causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.
Commenting at the time, David Jones, director of estates at University Hospital Southampton, described the bird's death as distressing.
