A LARGE cannabis factory was discovered by chance as police investigated a different matter, it has emerged.
Southampton police confirmed the Millbank Street cannabis factory was found by response and patrol officers.
They had been making enquiries about a different incident when they disturbed the people in the drugs den.

Posting on Facebook, Southampton police said: "This factory was uncovered by our Response and Patrol team who were conducting enquiries into a different matter when they entered the building and disturbed the occupants inside, also discovering the plants.
"Some people might see cannabis as harmless, but production on this scale brings organised crime, weapons and the exploitation of adults and children into our community which is why we take action."
