SCREAMS of 'I will stab you all' were heard just minutes before a man was knifed outside a fish and chip shop.

The attack on a 40-year-old man on Friday night has left people working in the area concerned - with some saying they fear for their safety.

The incident happened outside Kings Fish Bar, High Street, Shirley, at around 7.15pm, leaving the victim seriously injured.

One worker at next door takeaway Foody's said he heard someone shouting: "I'll stab you all."

The worker, 30, added: "I was inside my shop and busy when I heard some noise and someone shouting.

"I stood outside my shop to see what was happening and they kicked one of the doors and went down the road.

"One of the boys was black and the other was a white teenager.

"About six police cars and an ambulance were here after that."

Police have not made any arrests and are investigating.

Gemma Sheered, 24, works at Kelly Ann's Beauty.

She said: "We work late nights sometimes and when it's getting darker it is a bit worrying.

"I think this area, over the years that I have lived here all my life, is just getting worse and worse.

"It is horrible to say, but it didn't use to be like that and you could walk down the road when it's dark on your own.

"Walking by myself after work is a little bit intimidating."

Another member of the salon team, Amy Yendall, 19, said: "I have only just started working here.

"I don't think anything will stop them but themselves.

"You see police cars drive past, but you never really see them active here."
