PICTURES of the new Prime Minister visiting a Southampton Hindu Temple with his family have been shared with the Daily Echo.

Over the course of the summer, Rishi Sunak made regular trips to the Vedic Hindu Society Temple on Radcliffe Road with his wife and two daughters.

These photos, sent to us by the Hindu community, show the Southampton-born and raised Prime Minister posing with worshippers as well as helping dish out food he helped prepare.

In July, Mr Sunak met over 300 people at a private event in the temple where he made and served hot meals to worshippers. 

The former chancellor was seen engaging with the Indian community and showing off his culinary skills in the kitchen.

Residents said the new Hindu Prime Minister attempted to make the "perfect round roti".

The Southampton man has been described by those who know him as highly intellectual and knowledgeable. 

They hope he will take decisions which will help the poor and marginalised communities across the country.
