A STALKER looked through the messages on his ex wife's phone and followed her to appointments after their relationship ended, a court heard.

Following their divorce, Michal Burian followed his ex wife on several occasions and once shouted "I will love you till I die".

Prosecuting, Asher Seenaut told Southampton Magistrates’ Court Burian’s actions left his victim "vomiting and hyperventilating".

The 41-year-old, of Grange Park, in Hedge End, was handed a restraining order.

The court heard that on one occasion, Burian followed his ex to a leisure centre and waited in the car park for her to return and confronted her about messages from a man on her phone.

Burian saw the messages after the victim left her phone at home, in the house he continued to live in, and “demanded” to know who she was seeing.

Ms Seenaut added how the victim “pressed” Burian to move out of their family home by the end of October 2021, but he remained.

This “interfered” with the victim’s affairs as he “would not accept the relationship was over”.

Speaking in court, Burian, who represented himself, said he is fearful of being arrested again.

He said: “I am afraid I am going to be arrested again.

“I understand that I cannot have any contact with her, but she refused to give the dog to me.”

Appearing before Southampton Magistrates’ Court, Burian, who has no previous convictions, was handed a two-year restraining order.

Judge Peter Greenfield also instructed him to take 150 hours unpaid work and ordered him to comply with an 18-month community order.

Judge Greenfield said: “You are not to contact her directly or indirectly.

“For matters regarding the children you need to contact them via a solicitor.

“You must comply with the order.”
