A MAN who assaulted his victim in a Southampton pub before trashing a police van has appeared in court.
Martin Alder assaulted a man at the Bright Water Inn on Shirley Road on May 10.
The 34-year-old was found to be in possession of cocaine and was using threatening language and behaviour during the incident.
He then damaged a police van belonging to Hampshire Constabulary.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, he admitted assault by beating, criminal damage, possession of cocaine, and using threatening and abusive language and behaviour.
Alder, of Coltsfoot Square, Oxford, was remanded in custody until the next hearing.
