A PAEDOPHILE admitted to have a sexual interest in young girls after being found with more than 700 indecent images.

Police executing a warrant at Christian Williams' address found more than 770 indecent images.

The 36-year-old, of Captains Place, Southampton, had 252 categories A images, the most severe kind, which showed children between the ages of four and 14 being abused.

A court heard how one of these images was actually a film of abuse, with evidence that Williams had watched a live stream of abuse as well.

The files were found to be organised neatly on his device, with a conversation also uncovered between him and another person who was pretending to be an underage girl.

Prosecuting, Aleks Lloyd told Southampton Crown Court: “There is a concern of the defendant contacting children under the age of 16 directly.”

He said all the images found in June 2020 were for his own use, and that it didn’t appear they had been shared.

Mitigating, John Dier said Williams had accepted he has a “sexual interest in young girls” and “accepts that he needs help”.

He told the court that due to trauma in his childhood, Williams downloads the images because he feels he can “empathise” with the victim.

Mr Dier continued: “He has never offended and therefore pleaded guilty at the first opportunity.

“He realises that he needs to change and actively seeks help.”

Judge Keith Cutler CBE said some of the images included “young children having pain inflicted on them”.

Williams pleaded guilty to three charges of making indecent photographs and one charge of possession of an extreme pornographic image.

Appearing at Southampton Crown Court on October 21, he was sentenced to 12 months in jail suspended for two years.

He was also made subject to a sexual harm prevention order banning him from having contact with girls under the age of 16.

He must complete 45 rehabilitation activity requirement days and sign on to the sex offenders register for the next 10 years.
