A WOMAN is fighting for her life after being found unconscious on the floor following a serious assault.
The woman, who is in her 20s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries following the attack in Eastleigh in the early hours of this morning.
A man, also in his 20s, was also found unconscious in Leigh Road and was taken to hospital.
Police were called out just after 2.20am to reports of two men who attacked a group of people. They found a third victim who suffered facial injuries.
Two men aged 27 from Fair Oak were arrested nearby on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and remain in police custody at this time.
Enquiries to understand the motivation behind the assaults remain ongoing.
DI Johnstone said: “Our officers are currently trying to piece together the circumstances that led to this serious incident and we need the public’s help.
“Did you see what happened? Perhaps you recorded the incident or the moments leading up to it on your phone?
“Did you notice anything unusual happening while you were out in the town centre last night?
“Any information you might have could be vital so please get in touch.”
