A MUM has been assaulted after confronting a gang of teenagers who launched a firework at her car where her child was sitting inside.
The mum suffered injuries to her face when she was assaulted in an altercation with a teenage girl in the group in Hedge End.
Hampshire police said the Halloween incident happened in Pavilion Road after a gang of youths were launching fireworks by Baden Powel Lodge between 7.15pm and 7.45pm on Monday.

The mum had challenged the group after one pyrotechnic was launched at her car as her young child was in the back seat at the time.
The group fled in a taxi after the assault. Police said the teenage girl was white, aged 14 or 15, around 5ft 6ins tall and had short auburn hair.
She was seen wearing black trousers, a black jacket, a white top, and was carrying a bag with a gold chain.

A spokesperson from Hedge End police said: "We are conducting enquiries in the local area, but are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the moments leading up to or during the incident. Likewise, if anyone has any CCTV footage or dash-cam footage that may be able to assist us, please do come forward.
"Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting crime reference 44220443057.
"Alternatively, you can contact independent charity, Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111."
