A MAN who stepped in to stop a bus driver from being abused has been left with injuries to his face after being assaulted.
The 64-year-old was reportedly assaulted at around 10.30pm on November 5 on a bus in Eastleigh.
Police say a man was allegedly threatening and abusing the bus driver after an altercation with another passenger.

He was now been left with minor facial injuries.
His alleged attacker is then said to have left the bus before attacking a teenage boy.
The boy was uninjured but then the man began to behave in a "threatening manner" towards a vehicle, police say.
The vehicle had to reverse and drive around for fear that he would provoke violence.
Another man also reported being assaulted by the same individual.
An investigation was later launched with police working with CCTV operators and members of the public to locate the man.
Now a 30-year-old man from Bishopstoke has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assault and using threatening and abusive behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
He has since been released on conditional bail until February 3, 2023.
