A LEGIONELLA outbreak was discovered in a Southampton police station yesterday.
Regular tests revealed the bacteria in the Western Police Investigation Centre in Southern Road.
This is what we know so far about the incident.
What happened?
Legionella was identified in some water outlets at the police station on Friday, November 11.
The positive tests were discovered as part of the force’s “continual full testing regime.”

In an email sent out to staff, Superintendent George White said all taps and showers in the building will be “out of action” for at least 24 hours.
In lieu of running water, hand sanitiser and bottled water will be provided and available to everyone in the building.
The email goes on to say that the toilets can still be used.
What’s being done to resolve the issue?
According to Hampshire Constabulary, engineers and the estate team will be working to ensure the entire system is flushed and pasteurised.
The water supply is expected to be working fully again by this evening.
A spokesperson said: “We are working with our colleagues at the OPCC to resolve the matter as quickly as possible, with engineers on-site over the weekend.
"The safety of our officers and staff is always our priority and we have taken the necessary measures to ensure those working at the building can continue to do so.
"The public will not see any impact on our operational policing in the city."
