OPENING an appliance store is a Southampton man’s next step to take his children to Disney World.
Kevin Dumper, the owner of On Point Appliances, opens his shop in Woolston today.
The West End resident has been serving the city community as a domestic appliance engineer for two decades.
Kevin hopes the appliance shop in Lower Mortimer Road will bring in the funds needed to take his two children to Disney.

The 40-year-old said: “I have been doing really well and the opportunity for the shop came up and I thought ‘let’s go for it’.
“I have got two kids and my son loves Disney; it lights his face up.
“That’s why I do what I do and am working as hard as possible to take them both to Disney World.
“It’s taken two and a half months to get the shop ready as it was a dress boutique before.”
On top of selling appliances, Kevin repairs and installs, and delivers to SO and PO postcodes.
He said: “I have got a reputation in the appliance industry.
“The location of the shop is good, and there’s a good older generation of people there who like to come and look at machines.
“The shop will have that presence, and I can compete with other retailers with my prices.”
On Point Appliances will be open from 9am to 5pm on Saturday.
