RESIDENTS were woken in their beds after a man was found stabbed outside their homes.

An 18-year-old man was rushed to hospital after being found seriously injured in Manor Road North, Southampton, at around 2.45am on Saturday.

A police investigation has been launched, and a large cordon was set up.

Forensics officers worked through most of the day to establish what happened.

Multiple Peartree residents described being woken by the incident and have been left concerned by what happened.

Speaking to the Echo, Susan Baker said: “My husband said there were police cars everywhere and that is what woke the dog up.

“The flashing lights.

“We were told it was a serious assault [by the police].

The 59-year-old teaching assistant added: “It worries me.

“There is no way my husband will let me go to the shop now it’s dark now.

“We can’t take the cars out because they have got forensics out back.”

Mick Holmes, 67, a painter and decorator, added: “Police told me it was an assault. We heard them [police] at about 4am.

“They woke us up.

“There must have been seven cop cars. Armed police. Something went down… big.

“They were all geared up.”

Another resident, who wished to remain unnamed, told how she came across the police cordon on her way to the hairdresser at 8am on Saturday.

She simply described the incident as ‘a bit close to home’.

At the time of writing, the injured man remains in hospital being treated for his injuries and no arrests have been made.
