A MAN threw lit matches on a petrol station forecourt, threatened to kill casino workers and was caught in public in a lewd act with a naked woman.

Daniel Plumhoff admitted his 'outrageous behaviour' that also saw him hurl racist and homophobic abuse at police officers.

The 51-year-old, of Ticonderoga Gardens in Weston, Southampton, admitted ten charges and has been remanded in custody as he is a 'risk to the public'.

Southampton Magistrates' Court heard he was caught with a naked woman performing a lewd act on him in Bellevue Road, Southampton, on September 12.

Plumhoff admitted a number of public order offences including threats to damage property and racially aggravated harassment.

Prosecutor Ryan Seneviratne said Plumhoff threatened to burn down a BP petrol station in Southampton on July 20 after buying matches in the shop, lighting them and throwing them down on the forecourt.

Other matters include threatening to kill casino workers on July 16 after writing profanity on one of the doors, threatening to blow up the Best One shop on Station Road, and failing to provide a specimen on September 12.

Plumhoff also made racist and homophobic comments to police officers on multiple occasions.

The defendant has been in custody since September 14.

Mitigating, Chris Knight told the court that the defendant has “psychotic incidents from time to time” and that his parents have been “worried throughout”.

Plumhoff was also said to be taking spice and “knows his behaviour is completely out of order".

Mr Knight added: “Clearly it’s outrageous behaviour by him. He needs help. He knows his behaviour is completely out of order.

“It really is a mental health situation which needs to be addressed. Parents' concern is that he hasn’t had the help he should have had in the past.

“I say nothing about the offences because they speak for themselves.”

Magistrates said the offending was beyond their sentencing powers and adjourned the case to be heard at the crown court.

Plumhoff will now appear again on December 22 for sentencing.

Remanding him in custody, magistrate Clive Marks said this was due to the “seriousness” and “risk to the public”.
