A CLEANING company has celebrated its busiest year to date after working on some of the country’s most striking new buildings.
Cleaning Operations UK Limited (COUK) worked on the Horizon cruise terminal in Southampton, the Poole Gateway Building and the HALO building in Bristol.
The company, based at Sherendon House in Botley Road, Fareham, saw its income reach more than £2million while its workforce increased to 97.
It has completed 149 projects in 2022, up by 55 on last year.
COUK, under founder Luzia Holloway, held its annual ‘Revival of Beliefs’ party at Southampton’s Novotel for its workforce and their families.
Ms Holloway, who established the business more than 20 years ago, said: “In this, our first proper year back after Covid, we have completed some fantastic projects and reached some major milestones.
“Thanks to some of our long-standing clients such as RG Group, Wilmott Dixon, Bouygues UK, Kier and the Brymor Group we have worked on some iconic buildings, such as the new Unite student accommodation buildings at Middlesex Street in London and Cardiff University, the Horizon Cruise Terminal in Southampton, The Poole Gateway Building and the HALO building in Bristol.
“Many of these projects have seen over 40 Cleaning Operations UK operatives working day and night to achieve completion ahead of or on time, generating over £2m in income for the business and swelling our workforce to 97.”
She added: “The importance of the Revival of Beliefs event is to remind ourselves to continue to do what we do every day and every hour to the very best of our ability – to keep striving for excellence in the quality of the service we provide and to appreciate our customers and the trust they place upon us.
“Despite the huge challenges placed on our business by the Covid-19 pandemic, we were able to weather the storm, while some of our competitors folded, and this is because we never take our staff our customers for granted.”
The lunchtime event featured presentations to team members who went beyond the call of duty.
Team leader trophies were awarded to Anita Strus, Agnieszka Kania, Irina Marin and Sueli Patricio.
Unsung Hero awards went to Michal Koscielny and Roberto Mello.
Young Talent awards were handed to Natalia Gielas, Gabriella Guerra, Jonathas Fortes and Brenner Dalapicola and a Best Self Development award was presented to Marcin Zdyb.
