A SCHOOL in Hedge End has issued a warning after "several students" were seen walking on a nearby frozen pond.
Wildern School says boys in Years 7 or 8 were spotted on the frozen pond by Wildern Lane and Tamarisk Road at around 3.15pm yesterday.
It is asking parents to warn their children of the dangers of icy lakes after three boys died after falling through ice on a like in Solihull.
In a Facebook post, a spokesperson said: "Please can we ask you, especially following the sad news from Solihull today that you remind your child of the dangers of doing this.
"We believe the students were boys in Years 7 or 8 and they didn't seem to understand why so many members of the public were concerned for their safety."
The post added students would be reminded of the risks today.
