A SOUTHAMPTON pub is temporarily shut after being left with no heating for over a week.

Temperatures as low as -5C resulted in the entire workforce at The Angel Inn falling ill, according to a post on the pub's Facebook page.

After being unable to get the issue looked at by an electrician, the Palmerston Road pub has had no option but to close.

A message on Facebook, posted on Monday, reads: "Regretfully we are temporarily closed (just a handful of days, watch this space)

"After 8 days of zero heating and no electrician to fix it in temperatures hitting -5 the entire Evans clan is sick!"

The post was also printed and put up outside the pub.

On Facebook, residents have been sending well wishes to the staff.

It is not known when The Angel Inn will reopen.

The pub has been contacted for more information.
