MEET seven of the cats and kittens hoping to wake up to a forever home from Santa Paws this Christmas.

These pawsitively adorable felines are hoping this will be their Last Christmas at St Francis Animal Welfare.

The animal shelter in Fair Oak is currently dealing with an unprecedented number of cats needing rescue space and a loving home.

Volunteers hope just a handful of these adorable cats will find a home this Christmas.

Meet the cats

  • Gracie

Gracie is 11 years old and is a long-haired silver tabby.

She would love to live with someone who has a comfy lap for her to sit on and a garden for her to explore.

Gracie is in very good health and she would prefer a home where she is the only cat, and she is nervous about dogs.

  • Annie and LuLu

These pretty two six-month-old girls are Annie and LuLu.

They are looking for a new home where they can stay together.

The pair are good with other cats and have previously lived with calm dogs.

Both love to play, especially with anything catnip related, and they would be happy to live with older children.

These girls will need a home where they can safely explore outdoors.

  • Trixie

Trixie came into the shelter as a stray with her beautiful kittens.

Her kittens have all been rehomed, so Trixie has been spayed and is now looking for her forever home.

Trixie is approximately four/five years old.

She is looking for a quiet home, with someone who will spoil her and shower her with love.

  • Louie

Louie is a handsome, male, three-year-old Bengal.

He is looking for an adult only home, with someone who is very experienced with the breed.

Louie is not friendly towards other cats or dogs, so would need to be the only pet in his new home.

  • Sugar and Spice

These two beauties are Sugar and Spice.

They are approximately six months old and are looking for a new home where they can stay together.

Sugar and Spice are very nervous and are looking for a patient, kind, and very quiet home.

They are slowly growing in confidence and volunteers are sure that they will flourish once they are in a permanent home.

'Adopting helps two cats'

Shelter manager Helen Shaw said: “There are so many cats desperately needing a rescue space.

“Until the cats that are currently in our care find their forever homes, we really cannot help anymore.

“By adopting a shelter cat, you help two - the one whom you adopt and the one who is rescued in their place.

“All cats who are ready for adoption at St Francis Animal Welfare, are fully vet checked, neutered or spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

“If anyone is genuinely interested in adoption, please visit our website www.stfrancisanimalwelfare.co.uk and download an adoption application form from the cats needing new homes page and return it to us.

“Or for general enquiries, please call 02380 693282 between 10am-2pm, Monday to Saturday.”
