The incident happened on December 20 last year.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to using a vehicle dangerous due to security of load, and one charge of driving without insurance.
Cooke, of Benbow Gardens, Totton, was remanded on unconditional bail until the next hearing on April 21 to consider if there are special reasons for not ordering an endorsement or disqualification.
