A SIX figure refurbishment has given a Southampton pub a new lease of life.
The Lion on Bedford Place has reopened following a £190,000 investment into a new look and feel, inside and out.
It now boasts a new pool table, illuminated dartboard and gaming machines.

There is a jam-packed entertainment schedule at the pub. From quiz nights and poker nights to live music. Friday nights kick off the weekend with karaoke and Saturdays have DJs playing the best tunes.
The bar area and seating have been upgraded and all the sporting action on BT Sport and Sky is also available across several TV screens.
The investment brings new faces to the pub with Kim and William as the operators.
Kim, who has over 14 years’ experience in hospitality, cannot wait to get started.
She told the Daily Echo: "I am so excited about this new chapter at the Lion. Our new warm and friendly look has given the pub a new lease of life.
"We have a great drinks range and a fantastic offering of entertainment on offer here. From our events throughout the week to our weekend music and live sport, there really is something for everyone.
"I also cannot wait to work with the community in supporting local events and causes in the coming weeks and months.”
The Lion is now part of the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company, which is current title holder of the Best Community Pub Operator. Other pubs in the chain include The Gordon Arms in Portswood, The Brass Monkey in Shirley and The Keys in Totton. The Spitfire in Eastleigh, The Ironmaster in Fareham, The Bakers Arms in Winchester and Kings Arms at Lymington.
On the corner of buzzing Bedford Place and Waterloo Terrace, the building has housed popular pubs for many years. Previous incarnations include The Red Lion, The Ostrich, Bar Me and Tut n Shive.
