A SOUTHAMPTON pub is seeking permission to build an extension to create a function room.
Bosses at the Brewhouse and Kitchen in Highfield have submitted plans to Southampton City Council.
The pub and micro-brewery on Highfield Avenue near Portswood could see a single-storey extension to create a function room.
The pub is also hoping to create a new paved seating area and relocate its smoking shelter.

It is hoped the extension will provide extra room during "busy spells" as well as act as a designated bookable function area for parties and special occasions.
The plans say: "The extension and alterations to the public house shall help to provide a better facility that is able to adapt to the pressure and expansion of the local area.
"It shall also allow the business to establish and grow, ensuring it remains a key part of the community.
The pub says the extension is not to create room for more "food cover", but has said it could increase the coverage by 40 people.

One objection has been submitted following concerns about parking.
In an open letter to the council, the resident, who has remained anonymous, said: "I thought [there] was a lack of reality to the number of cars needing parking places.
"As this is increasing the occupancy of the site, the area at weekends gets crammed with people trying to find places to park meaning residents too struggle to find places, and people park in stupid places, then residents must repark before 8am on Monday in a parking zone area."
However, the plans state there are already 17 more parking spaces on site than required by standards.
There are 25 parking spaces as well as two disabled bays along with four steel hoops for bicycle parking.
The pub has said noise will continue to be managed by staff and that any complaints will be recorded and reviewed.
The pub was originally known as Highfield Hotel before its name was changed to The Grazing Goat in 2014.
The pub is now owned by Brewhouse and Kitchen.
A decision on the plans is yet to be made.
