TEACHERS and pupils are jumping for joy after being handed a top grading by inspectors.
Mansbridge Primary School in Swaythling, Southampton, received a good Ofsted rating from inspectors last week.
Inspectors praised the ambitious and friendly school.
Headteacher Catherine Brosnan told The Echo: “We’re delighted, a lot of hard work has gone into this, and I couldn’t be more proud of my staff and students.
“This shows to everyone that we’re a good school.
“It was a mammoth task.
“It’s been five years since our last Ofsted report, so it was really in depth.
“The children were noted for their exceptional behaviour and how confidently they spoke to the Ofsted inspectors when asked questions.”

The Ofsted inspection was conducted by James Munt and Tracey Brunton in November 2022.
Inspectors said: “Mansbridge is an ambitious and friendly school.
“Pupils enjoy learning and relish the opportunities the school offers.
“This includes the annual festival of culture and visits from the local theatre and football club.
“The vision of ‘learn more, remember more, be more’ drives everything that the school does.”
The school – home to more than 200 students – was noted for its inclusivity.
Mrs Brosnan said it is "one of the most inclusive schools in Southampton".
She added: “The children are included in every part of the school day.”
The primary school’s headteacher was also complimentary of teaching staff after a nerve-racking two-month wait.
She said: “We’re a small school and every teacher has to take on a specialist subject aside from their other teachings.
“It’s an extra workload that goes without extra pay, unlike other schools.
“All of our staff were interviewed by lead inspectors about their subjects.
“They have to know their subjects in detail and I’m glad to say that everyone came through with flying colours.”
This is the second report in a row to grade the school as good.
The Ofsted report added: “Staff set high expectations for all pupils.
“Leaders create a safe and supportive environment.
“They welcome pupils into the school daily and provide activities to help pupils feel confident and happy.
“One parent commented ‘My child feels safe and secure with the learning and has never once had a bad day.’ This was typical of parents’ comments.”
