A WOMAN and a dog have been rescued after a fire broke out at a Gosport home.
The blaze was started by a tumble dryer and spread quickly through the building.
Firefighters rushed to the scene on Howe Road today, shortly before 10.30.
Crews from Gosport, Fareham, Southsea, and Portchester were called to tackle the fire.

The woman and the dog were rescued by a firefighter, who led them out of the property and down a ladder.
She was treated for smoke inhalation by South Central Ambulance Service paramedics before being taken to hospital.
The dog was also given oxygen.
Nearby properties were inspected for any signs of fire or smoke spread.
The stop message came in at 11.12am and crews returned to the station.

Station Manager Carl Halewood said: "We were able to perform a successful rescue thanks to the quick and efficient response from our crews.
"Their swift actions ensured we were able to prevent the fire from spreading and causing more damage to the property.
"We urge you to make sure your clothes are drying safely and that you have a working smoke alarm on each floor of your home."
