A MAN who tried to smash a window belonging to the police has gone unpunished because he had no money.

Luke Boylan of no fixed address admitted to attempting to damage the window owned by Hampshire police in Southampton.

The value of the window is not known.

He was arrested and held in custody until Friday when he appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court.

The 30-year-old pleaded guilty to the single charge against him after the incident on December 15 last year.

He was detained in court but allowed to leave after his sentencing.

No order was made for court costs or for a surcharge due to him being homeless and having no money.
