Searching for houses in Southampton, like much of the UK, can be quite a tricky task, especially with house prices almost continually on the rise.
You might wonder what some of the cheapest properties you can buy in the area are, excluding options such as shared ownership or retirement property.
If you're looking for a property on the lower end of the price scale in Southampton, then Zoopla may have an option for you.
A two-bed terraced house on Melchet Road is currently on sale for £190,000 and is claimed to offer "good value for money".
Take a look inside the property
On its Zoopla page, it says: "Set in this very popular area and offering good value for money this spacious family home is offered with no chain.
"The area is serviced by public transport and there are a variety of schools and shops to cater for most people's needs."
In describing the kitchen it said: "Fitted with modern matching units both floor and wall mounted with roll edge complimenting work surfaces and sink unit inset."
Also, there is plumbing for a washing machine and space to put a fridge/freezer, alongside a built-in electric oven and hob.
Meanwhile, the lounge/dining room runs the full width of the house and has patio doors that open up to the rear garden.
Heading upstairs you can find the two bedrooms, one of which is a built-in cupboard and the other had a built-in wardrobe.
Additionally, there is a bathroom on this floor which is a three-piece matching suite with a shower cubicle, wash hand basin and WC.
On top of that, there is pedestrian access to the rear garden which is mainly laid to lawn with a decked patio area and brick-built storage shed.
