POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a hit-and-run which injured a pedestrian.

It happened at Butts Road, Sholing, close to its junction with Imber Way, at around 3.15pm on Tuesday.

A police spokesperson said: "The pedestrian, a 47-year-old man from Southampton, was taken to hospital, where he was treated for a serious injury. He has since been released.

"Following an initial police investigation, we are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

"Do you have dash-cam, doorbell or CCTV footage that shows any vehicles on Butts Road at the time of the incident?"
