LARGE flares and clouds of smoke can be seen at Fawley oil refinery.
Clouds of smoke could be seen as flares have been lit at the oil refinery on Friday.
On social media, ExxonMobil Fawley said the flares were being used to "safely manage a process interruption".
The oil firm apologised for "increased noise levels" from the site adding its team is "working hard to minimise any disruption".
The clouds of smoke can be seen all the way from Ocean Village.
We apologise to residents who may be experiencing increased noise levels from our site. We are currently using our flares to safely manage a process interruption. Our team is working hard to minimise any disruption. Thank you for your patience.
