FOUR men have been charged with human trafficking and running pop-up brothels across Britain.

Southampton Magistrates' Court heard the charges span 13 months across 2018 and 2019 with the brothels in Southampton, Manchester, Bicester and Cardiff.

One of the four men appeared in court on Tuesday.

Mehmed Mehmed, 28, of Angus Street, Cardiff is facing three charges of controlling prostitution for gain.

He faces three charges of arranging or facilitating the travel of another person with a view to exploitation - and possessing criminal property, some £98,375.86 in bank credits.

He was granted unconditional bail to appear next at Southampton Crown Court on March 21.

A further three men are also due in court in relation to the offences.

Peter Lin, 46, of no fixed address, has been charged with four counts of controlling prostitution for gain and four counts of arranging or facilitating travel of another person with a view to exploitation.

He has also been charged with two counts of acquiring/using/possessing criminal property relating to jewellery, £8,000 in cash and bank credits totalling £19,931.60.

Jianfeng Zhou, 51, of no fixed address, has been charged with four counts of controlling prostitution for gain, four counts of arranging or facilitating travel of another person with a view to exploitation, and one count of acquiring/using/possessing criminal property.

The criminal property relates to jewellery and £8,000 cash.

Wu Yang, 50, of Lee Church Street, Lewisham, London, has been charged with controlling prostitution for gain, arranging or facilitating travel of another person with a view to exploitation, and possessing criminal property - £5,277.57 cash.
