They had big plans for the nightspot, with even more live music than ever before, live Gaelic football on the big screens and a country music night in the offing.
A practice run for workers, family, friends and special guests preceded the official opening weekend - as seen in these pictures.
The club was a central part of the city’s nightlife for almost 20 years and bands such as The Kooks, Maximo Park and Southampton rock group Band of Skulls graced its stage.
It was also home to the popular Club Psychedelia night which hosted rising stars such as Royal Blood and played a major part in Southampton’s thriving music scene.

But, in 2014, the owner put the club up for sale.
After sitting empty for a couple of years, the venue became Suburbia and is a live music venue once more.
