IT'S a double celebration for staff at a historic country pub reopened last year after lying empty for five years.
The Duke on the Test, relaunched last August by legendary Saints manager Lawrie McMenemy, has broken all forecasts, serving more than 25,000 meals to happy customers in just six months.
The popular Romsey restaurant, bar and inn also scored a 9.1 (out of 10) in the Traveller Review Awards 2023 from Booking.com, the online booking portal.

General manager Mark Pinn said: "We have only been open just over six months and have got off to a very good start. Our main focus now is keeping our standards and quality high."
The future looks bright for The Duke on the Test with Mark projecting busier months ahead.
Customers can enjoy a number of dining areas, as well as outside patio space. Features include a double-aspect log burner, as well as a snug and library area. Many of the 16th-century pub's original features have remained including oak beams and an Inglenook fireplace.
