There is a chance Southampton could see some snow next week as temperatures across the country are set to plummet, according to the BBC.
The BBC Weather forecast for the city predicts colder temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday, with a chance to see some light snow showers on Wednesday.
Snow and ice warnings will be in place across the UK next week and a level two weather alert for cold has been issued for the whole of England.
The latest cold snap has already been nicknamed 'Beast from the East 2', though the most impacted areas are set to be Scotland and the north of England.
Due to its proximity to the warm Solent waters, Southampton is notorious for avoiding the snow.
However, the original Beast from the East five years ago did prompt heavy snowfall in the city. Schools were forced to close and people were confined indoors.

Judging from the forecasts, it's unlikely weather conditions in Southampton will mirror those of February 2018.
However, on Tuesday and Wednesday, it will feel colder.
On those days, temperatures will reach highs of 6C during the day and drop as low as 0C or -1 overnight.
Tuesday will see some light rain and light wind while on Wednesday, light snow is forecast between 6am and 10pm.
Between those times, temperatures will be between 0 and 3C.
The rest of the week is set to be quite rainy. It will feel milder as the weekend approaches.
