A SOUTHAMPTON man has been jailed for carrying a kitchen knife on the city's streets.
Darren Jones was caught carrying the blade on Padwell Road in Bevois on September 28 last year.
The 44-year-old committed the offence while subject to a suspended sentence.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court on March 6, he admitted one charge of the possession of a blade in a public place.
Jones, of Richmond Gardens, Southampton, was jailed for eight weeks and the knife was seized and destroyed.
