Restaurant manager Vasile Stamate, 37, from the restaurant Marco's on Oxford street said: "It was just a group of fans coming from [Bernard Street].

"At first, it looked like a general brawl but then people started fighting, throwing chairs and tables at each other.

"They were shouting and screaming at each other, there were a few glasses being thrown at each other as well.

"We were full at the time so we had a lot of customers, so we had some staff standing outside just to make sure nothing happened inside but fortunately the police came a few minutes later and no one of our staff was injured."

The restaurant manager at Oxford Brasserie said: "Two groups came from the main street, they stopped by the corner [of Oxford Street and Terminus Terrace.

"After that, we couldn't see anything else from our side, then the police were here and they took care of the situation."
